Consumers can enter their credit card information once in their
ZixWallet™
which is stored in the ZixCharge Member
Database at the ZixIt Corporation Secure Data Center.
Every ZixWallet is protected by a Login Name and Password known only to the
ZixCharge Member. The Login Name and Password are required to open the
ZixWallet and to authorize charges on credit cards in the ZixWallet.
An image of the Login Screen is shown below. A Member may open an existing
ZixWallet -- or a non-Member, who would like to become a ZixCharge Member, may
create a new ZixWallet. There is no charge to create or use a ZixWallet.
Members may save their Login Name and Password by checking
"Remember my login name on this computer."
A ZixWallet contains one or more payment methods -- credit card, debit card,
checking account, etc. An image of a ZixWallet is shown here.
The ZixWallet enables consumers to use not only credit and debit cards but also
checking accounts and other methods of payment such as bank lines of credit.
ZixWallet supports a number of special Member Services:
Change Login Name and Password. Access to the ZixWallet is by way of a login
name and password. A ZixCharge Member may change these -- for example,
if they believe they have been compromised.
Change password recovery options. A ZixCharge Member may choose to
establish a Recovery Question hint and Recovery Answer that may be used to access
the ZixWallet if they have forgotten their password.
Set default payment option. Every ZixWallet has a Default Payment Option. Each
time a ZixCharge Member "Buys with ZixCharge," they may choose to pay with
their Default Payment Option without opening their ZixWallet. The payment
method that is the Default Payment Option is noted next to
that item in the ZixWallet.
Share ZixWallet. A ZixCharge Member may share their ZixWallet with others
-- perhaps other family members -- by creating additional Login Passwords
for the ZixWallet. Other individuals may charge Internet purchases with
payment methods in the ZixWallet but may not see the owner's
information. The ZixWallet owner is notified by email when persons with
whom he has shared the ZixWallet make purchases.
Change your email address. An email address is used to confirm the email
address of the ZixCharge Member before a ZixWallet can be activated and used.
A Member can also create a ZixCharge Forwarding Email Address. The Member
may give this ZixCharge email address to merchants instead of their "real"
email address. When a merchant sends email to the forwarding email address,
ZixCharge will forward the message to the Member's "real" email address.
Manage merchant email forwarding. Member's who no longer want to receive email
from a particular merchant may note this in their ZixWallet and ZixCharge
will not forward that email to the Member.
Once they have opened their ZixWallet, ZixCharge Members can add, edit, and delete
payment methods (credit cards, debit cards, checking accounts, etc.)
For example, if a member wants to add a credit card to their ZixWallet, they
will be presented with the following screen:
